LATRO brings the SMEs to our "telecom heavy" cases.

Cellular data plays a critical role in securing convictions in court cases, both in the United States and abroad. Location information, browser history, and data stored in phone applications can provide valuable information to investigators and help establish a clear picture of events leading up to, during, and after a crime.

One of the key challenges in using cellular data as evidence in court is the volume of data that can be collected. A single phone can generate gigabytes of data, and investigating a case involving multiple phones can quickly become overwhelming. This is where subject matter expertise is essential.

At PIN Forensics, we rely on our partner, LATRO Services, to assist in "telecom heavy" cases. LATRO has telecommunications network and architecture engineers on staff who are able to decipher the technical information contained in cellular data. In some instances, LATRO can even look at network data and apply their Patented "Protocol Signature" algorithm to identify the type of device that may have been used, when no device was seized or entered into evidence. This level of technical analysis requires close coordination with the mobile network operator, but with a warrant, this information is generally obtainable for high profile cases.

The most important aspect of a court case involving digital data evidence is the ability to present the information clearly and concisely to the jury. This requires not only a thorough understanding of the technical details, but also the ability to distill the information into a form that is easy for non-experts to understand.

At PIN Forensics, we work closely with LATRO to ensure that the information we provide is presented in a way that is clear and concise, allowing the jury to easily understand the significance of the evidence and make an informed decision.

In summary, cellular data is a valuable tool in securing convictions in court cases. However, it requires subject matter expertise to effectively evaluate and present the information to a jury. At PIN Forensics, we rely on LATRO's team to provide this expertise and help us deliver clear and concise reports and presentations to the jury.
